Journey to Shan State: A journey to Shan State mean exploring an incredibly scenic and cultural diversity; Southern Shan State’s rich landscapes are home to fabulous archaeological ruins and smiling, friendly people, some of the most breathtaking temple architecture in Asia and the fascinating lakeside communities on Lake Inle, whose floating gardens and ageless traditions recall a time long past.

Day 1                                             Heho - Pindaya

Arrive at Heho Airport, our friendly guide will welcome you or your group with welcome signboard. Then drive to Pindaya and check into to your hotel. Lunch at local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit Pindaya Caves, ensconced in limestone ridge overlooking the lake. Inside the cavern there are more than 9,000 Buddha images – made from alabaster, teak, marble, brick, lacquer and cement which is stunning view of Pindaya. Then visit some Local Houses where families produce Shan Paper and Parasols. For centuries Shan artisans have been turning the bark of the mulberry tree into wonderfully textured paper and lustrous parasols. Roll up your sleeves and try your hand at this traditional craft and see how they make the amazing traditional Myanmar umbrellas. You will also see the famous cave with over 9,000 Buddha inside...with a stunning view of Pindaya.

Day 2                                             Pindaya - Kalaw


Breakfast at hotel. This morning, drive to Kalaw, which was formerly a British Hill Station. Arrive Kalaw and check into your hotel. Lunch at local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit the Local Market, Train Station and walking up the hill to see the Old Catholic Church (if open). Accommodation at hotel, Kalaw. In the evening at 6 pm, your trekking guide will come to your hotel for meeting about your trekking.

Day 3                            Kalaw - Pa-O Village (1st day Trek)

Breakfast at your hotel. Your trek guide will pick you up from your hotel at 08:30AM and bring you to the start point of the trek (45 minutes drive). You'll begin trekking to Pinnwe and Pawkes villages which are 7km away. This will take around 2 hours. After a short break you'll continue onto Kone Hla village (around 1.5 hrs trek) where a delicious lunch will be waiting for you.

Following lunch, continue to Pattu village which is another 7km away. You will be spending the night at Pattu village with a local family who have cooked you some traditional Shan food for dinner.

Day 4                                           Pa-O Village - Inle Lake (Final day Trek)

After breakfast begin todays trek with a 5.5km walk to Kyauk Su village. After refueling yourself enjoy the final part of your trek as you make your way to the jetty at Inle Lake, a further 2 hours walk away.

On the shores of Inle Lake, you'll enjoy lunch cooked for you, before you board a boat that will take you across Inle Lake to your hotel.

You will be staying in basic accommodation with communal showers, mosquito nets and no air conditioning.

We would advise you bring a day sack which you can use during the trek while your main luggage is transferred to your hotel.

Day 5                                           Inle Lake Tour

Breakfast at your hotel. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel at 8:30 Am. Then, enjoy your Inle Lake Boat Trip and you will see the lake's unique “Leg Rowers” – the Intha people row standing up with one leg wrapped around an oar. Visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in the southern Shan State. Five images, for of which are ferried around the lake during Phaung Daw U Festival (late September/early October – please check with us for exact festival date). Then stalls on the ground floor of the shrine and nearby sell brightly colored cotton Shan shoulder bags, other local crafts and 'antiques'. Silk and cotton fabrics are a local specialty, there is over 200 handloom. Continue visit to Nga Phe Kyaung (Jumping Cat Monastery), a wooden monastery on stilts over the lake. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel, Inle Lake.

Day 6                                             Heho Departure

Breakfast at your hotel. Enjoy your leisure day with hotel facilities and other activities with your own arrangement. Your driver will pick you up from your hotel & transfer to Heho Airport for your departure flight (Pick up time will depend on your flight time).
