                                                Tour In Brief

 

The program is for our customers who can visit and enjoy the main tourist attraction destinations of Myanmar and the surrounding areas. Tour starts from the main gateway of Myanmar - Yangon and visit the interesting places around the city. Visit the richest archaeological sites of Bago near Yangon and visit the most world-famous place of Bagan (was just officially inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on 6 July 2019) with thousands of pagodas. Explore and see magnificent view over Mt. Popa. Also visit the last royal capital of Myanmar – Mandalay and surrounding ancient areas of AVA & Sagaing, experience riding long-tail boat in Inle Lake and hidden place of Indein temple complex. Finally, come back to Yangon and end our tour.

Day 1: Yangon Arrival & City Tour

Arrival at Yangon International airport and your guide will greet you at the arrivals hall. Then start the Yangon sightseeing tour with a visit of Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, featuring a huge reclining Buddha image. Next, drive along Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake and on the east side make a brief stop to take some great photos across the lake towards the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda. Drive through the heart of downtown Yangon, and enjoy some of the best that colonial-style Yangon has to offer such as the High Court building and The Government Telegraph Office on Pansodan street; both were built in the 1920s & 1930s.

 

Afternoon, continue with a visit to Bogyoke Aung San (Scott) Market (closed on Mondays and public holidays) to discover Myanmar's wide range of handicrafts. No doubt you will find your preferred item to take back home as a remembrance of your trip to The Golden Land. Finally, continue to the Shwedagon Pagoda, the highlight of any visit to Yangon. Towering over the city, this pagoda is the most sacred spot in the country, built to house eight hair relics of the Buddha. The Shwedagon and surrounding shrines are at their most beautiful during the sunset hour, as the golden stupa reflects the changing colors of twilight. Return back to the hotel. Day 2: Yangon – Bago – Yangon

 

After breakfast at your hotel, drive to Bago. just 80 km (50 miles) north of Yangon. Bago, one of the richest archaeological sites in Myanmar, which was founded the city about 825AD and in 13th Century AD. Then visit Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda, Shwe Tha lyaung Reclining Buddha Image (the world’s most reclining Buddha), Hinthagone Pagoda and continue to the huge 4 sitting Buddha’s of “KyaikPun“ (28 meters high huge Buddha Image). Continue drive back to Yangon. Accommodation at your Hotel in Yangon.

Day 3: Yangon – Bagan full-day excursion

 

Breakfast at the hotel. Then transfer to Yangon domestic airport for the flight to Bagan. Upon arrival, start your Bagan full-day tour with Nyaung U local market. Continue to see the golden stupa of Shwezigon Pagoda. Continue to Ananda Temple, a whitewashed masterpiece of Mon architecture with four standing Buddhas. Make a photo stop at the tallest temple measuring 61m – Thatbyinnyu Temple known as the temple of omniscience“ and dating from 1144.

 

Transfer to your hotel to check-in.

 

In the afternoon, first, stop at Myinkaba area and Gubyaukgyi Temple with its fine stuccowork. Then, visit Dhammayangyi, a massive-looking temple dating from 1170 which is famous for its interlocking mortarless brickwork. Stop at a popular lacquerware workshop producing this most famous of Bagan handicrafts. Late afternoon, horse-cart brings you to half an hour to a sunset place, from which you can enjoy a magnificent view over Bagan’s temples area and Ayeyarwaddy River around Sunset time. Day 4: Bagan – Mt.Popa - Bagan

 

Breakfast at the hotel. In the Morning, leave Bagan behind and drive ahead to Popa and upon arrival at Mt. Popa, take a rest in a short time to relax. Mount Popa itself is 1,518 m. high, but our visit focuses on Popa Taungkalat, 737 m. high, its cone-shaped form actually being the core of an extinct volcano. It is also the home of Myanmar’s 37 most important nats (spirits), housed in a shrine at the foot of Taungkalat.

 

After that, drive back to Nyaung-U, en route, stop for an interesting visit at “Paing” roadside shop. Here, you can observe how locals climb up toddy trees to harvest the toddy juice. Depending on the time of day, the taste is sweet or rather more bitter. This juice is sometimes popularly called “sky beer”. Then transfer back to hotel and accommodation at your hotel in Bagan.

Day 5: Bagan – Mandalay – Amarapura Full Day Tour

 

Breakfast at the hotel. Then transfer to Nyaung U airport for the flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, start your full day excursion with the ancient capital of Amarapura, “City of Immortality”, and 11 km. south of Mandalay. First, visit to U-Bein Bridge, over one km. long and almost entirely made of teak, and spanning the Taungthaman Lake.

Since Amarapura is famous for its fine textiles, there is some time to visit a silk weaving shop.

 

After that, drive to the hotel to check-in.

 

In the afternoon, visit Shwenandaw Monastery, an ancient wooden building with intricate carvings, which was once King Mindon's home. Continue to see the “world’s largest book”, being the Buddhist Scriptures inscribed on marble slabs, at Kuthodaw Pagoda. Enjoy spectacular views around sunset time from Mandalay Hill, covered with glass-studded temples.

Day 6: Mandalay – AVA – Sagaing sightseeing (B)

 

After breakfast, today we will transfer and visit AVA. First, cross the Ayeyarwaddy river and take a very local ferry to visit Innwa (AVA). A fitting way to visit Innwa is by taking a horse-cart ride. Pass through the ancient city walls to visit Maha AungmyeBonzen Kyaung, a brick, and stucco monastery, also known as Me Nu Oke Kyaung. Visit Bagaya Kyaung, the impressive wooden monastery entirely built with Teak, and supported by 267 teak posts, which hold a collection of manuscripts written on palm leaves (pe-sa).

 

Then, across Sagaing bridge and enjoy picturesque Sagaing Hill, still the beating heart of the Buddhist faith in Myanmar today. Numerous monasteries and pagodas dot the hillsides. Visit Soon U Ponya Shin Paya, which offers magnificent sweeping views of its surroundings, and U Min Thounzeh Pagoda, containing 45 Buddha images lined up in a half-moon shape. And enjoy the sunset time at Sagaing Hill panoramic view. Drive back to your hotel. Accommodation at your hotel in Mandalay.

Day 7: Mandalay – Heho – Inle Lake sightseeing (B)

 

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Mandalay airport for the flight to Heho. Upon arrival, drive to Nyaung Shwe, the small town at the entrance to Inle Lake. Transfer by longtail boat to your hotel on the lake for check-in.

 

Then start exploring the charm of Inle Lake proper. Over 20 km. long and more than 10 km. wide, and at 875 m. above sea level, the calm waters of the lake contrast sharply with the surrounding high hills as a backdrop. Apart from offering amateur photographers an exceptional chance to take plenty of great shots, economically Inle lake has over the years become the vegetable and fruit garden for most of the country! See the lake's unique “leg rowers” – the Intha people row standing up with one leg wrapped around an oar, thus they are able to free their hands for fishing and tending to their gardens. Visit Ywama village, one of Inle’s most attractive villages. Watch plenty of floating gardens, where fruit, flowers, and main vegetables are grown. Continue by boat to visit Nga Phe Kyaung, a monastery famous for its "jumping cats”, but primarily of interest for its extensive collection of Buddha images made of different materials, and in various styles and sizes.

 

Next, visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in southern Shan State. Its five uniquely shaped, gilded, but relatively small images are carried around the lake by boat during the annual Inle Boat Procession (usually in the period September / October). Finally, visit one of the many silk & lotus weaving workshops, which produce on wooden handlooms high-quality and colorful textiles, sought after by many, even as far as Yangon and Mandalay. Transfer back to your hotel.

Day 8: Inle Lake with Indein Sightseeing

 

After breakfast, travel by long-tail boat to the western shore of the lake. Disembark at Indein jetty and, passing a local school, a local market, and several shops and stalls, walk up a stairway leading to the hidden and beautiful Alaung Sitthou area (Indein Temple Complex). Located on the very shore of the lake, this site consists of dozens of small ancient stupas overgrown by moss and greens in a jungle-like setting. This gives Indein a special feel and a very particular ambience.

Take time to explore the stupa complex itself. It’s also a great opportunity to take some exquisite photos of this unusual place. Then, turn back and continue on foot past rice fields to the village of Sae Ma, stopping to explore the village area and to meet some of the villagers in their daily activities. Return to your hotel. Accommodation at your hotel in Inle Lake.

Day 9: Heho – Yangon departure day

 

After breakfast, transfer to Heho airport for the flight to Yangon. Upon arrival at Yangon, balance your time and transfer to Yangon International Airport for your international departure flight.
